"A Salute to Our Own"
The Janice Mason Art Museum is proud to
present its current exhibit “A
Salute to Our Own” showing through October 16. The show consists of 56
works by the area’s outstanding art teachers. Visitors will see
Mitchell
Bryant’s carved walking sticks and pottery; drawings in various media by
Gail Hardy, Kathy Harper, Peggy Kemp, Dani Knight, and Jerry Speight;
works on canvas by Mitchell Bryant, Kathy Harper, Peggy Kemp, and Dani
Knight; watercolors by Kathy Harper, Peggy Kemp, and Jerry Speight; mixed
media works on paper by Lisa Houha; collage by Gail Hardy; and mixed media
on board by Jerry Speight. Several of these works are for sale.
“We’ve
been anxious to bring the work of our local teachers into the spotlight,”
said Board President Karen Clement. “This show should make us all feel
very proud of the talent in the region.”
The Museum will host a reception for the artists on Friday, September 28
from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. All members of the community are invited to
drop
in and visit with the artists and enjoy their wonderful work. For more
