Poetry Contest 2010 Click here to download entry form and rules To help celebrate National Poetry Month, which is in April, the Janice Mason Art Museum is sponsoring a poetry contest. All entries must be turned in to the museum no later than April 29, 2009. The following rules apply.:
· Only one entry per person; poems will not be returned · Poem must be submitted on an 8 ˝ x 11 sheet of paper or by e-mail at jmam@bellsouth.net. and must be accompanied by the Entry Form to provide all needed information. The Entry Form may be secured from the museum or at www.jmam.org · For paper submission, staple Entry Form as second page. · Do not write your name on the poem. · Put the title of the poem on the top of each page. · Poems may not have embellishments such as pictures, graphics, photos, etc. · Poems should not contain profane or obscene language. Winners agree to permit JMAM to publish their poetry The first place winner from each category will be awarded $25.00. Poetry will be divided into the following categories: grades K-2, grades 3-5, grades 6-,grades 9-12, and Adults.
Poem In Your Pocket Day
Also in conjunction with National Poetry Month, the museum will sponsor a Poem in Your Pocket Day. This fun day will be scheduled for April 29 and everyone is invited to participate by bringing their favorite poem to read at Eldora’s Book Store from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. The poem may be one you have selected from a book or even one you have written. Put your poem in your pocket and come share it with other poetry lovers of all ages at Eldora’s. Watch for the upcoming date!
