On October 23 at 6:30 PM the Janice Mason Art Museum will host “Arts Night at
The Wier Show,” an after-hours reception for anyone associated with the arts.
“We wanted to give the vibrant arts community in Kentucky and Tennessee a
private tour,” said Board of Directors President Paula Lisowsky. “This is
such a remarkable show; we just have to share it.”
The Wier Show consists of 24
pieces of contemporary art by some of the twentieth century’s most well known
artists, including Chuck Close, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, and Frank
Stella. This collection of works on paper, sculpture, and textiles is on loan
from Pat and Dick Wier, private art collectors from Chicago. The Cadiz
exhibit marks the first time this group of works has left their home as a
collection. The Cadiz/Trigg County Tourist Commission is sponsoring the show,
which is open every day through November 28.
School tours are encouraged
and are offered free of charge. Information for educators has been compiled in
the form of lesson plans and is available on the Museum’s website.
More information about the
exhibit, the Museum, and the reception may be obtained by calling the Museum

Partial funding is provided by the Kentucky Arts Council, a state agency of
the Education, Arts and Humanities Cabinet with support from the National
Endowment for the Arts.
