Cadiz Poet Will Read and Sign Books at the Janice Mason
Art Museum
CADIZ, Ky --
Nancy Genevieve Perkins, formerly of Cadiz, will be reading from her new
volume of poetry at the Janice Mason Art Museum on October 20 at 7:30 p.m.
Dr. Perkins
taught English at Trigg County High School from 1977 – 1990.
In addition, she started the Writing Center at Murray State University in
1975 and directed it until 1977. Currently,
she is teaching creative writing at the University of Illinois in Springfield.
“NYX: Mother of Light is the first of a trilogy,” said Perkins, “NYX:
Daughter of Chaos will go to press by the end of this year, and
NYX: Sister of Erebus should be out in the spring of 2002.” After the reading, she will be signing books, which are
available for purchase at the museum.
Dr. Martha
Davis, Museum Assistant and former principal of Trigg County Elementary School,
stated, “One of the Museum’s goals is to provide a gathering place where
people enjoy the amazing diversity of creative talent to be found in our own
back yard.”
“We welcome
everyone to come Saturday evening and celebrate the work of this talented and
successful poet who was a part of our own community.”
The Janice
Mason Art Museum is a non-profit organization located at 71 Main Street, Cadiz,
