Festival of Trees Begins at JMAM
Cadiz, KY A feeling of Christmas will be in the air at the Janice Mason Art
Museum as the Museum and Trigg County Homemakers co-host the annual Trail of
Trees beginning on December 4 through December 31. There will be more than
twenty-five unique themed trees, as well as an added treat of antique toys in
the show.
This event grows every year, and each year the Christmas trees are more diverse
and surprising. These Christmas trees are projects of civic organizations,
clubs, schools, and businesses in the area. The opening night is always the
night of the Cadiz candle light Christmas parade, and plenty of Main Street and
Museum volunteers will be in Dickens’ costume.
The community is invited to tour the Trail of Trees at an Open House with
refreshments on December 4, beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Museum will remain open
after the parade until 7:30.
For more information about the exhibit, the museum, or to schedule a group tour
call 522-9056 between the hours of 10 and 4 Monday through Saturday, and 1 till
4 on Sunday. You may also get more information by visiting our web site at
www.jmam.org.
The museum will be closed from November 24 at 4:00 until December 4 at 4:00 for
installation of this exciting show of the Festival of Trees.
The Janice Mason Art Museum is a non-profit organization located at 71 Main
Street. It is funded in part by a grant from the Kentucky Arts Council, a state
agency in the Commerce Cabinet, with support from the National Endowment for the
Arts, and the USDA Forest Service.
