Janice Mason Art Museum to Feature Trigg County Folk Art and Craft Exhibit
The Janice Mason Art Museum in cooperation with the Lakeland Artisans Guild
will host the Trigg County Folk Art and Craft Exhibit beginning May 23-June 30 at the Art Museum. This will feature crafts and folk art of former and
current Trigg County residents. Many different types of crafts will be
presented, some of which will be for sale.
As everyone knows there are many talented crafters in our area
that will present an exceptional exhibit. If you are a folk artist or
crafter from Trigg County and would like to display your art or craft in this
exhibit there are certain guidelines and dates that must be followed.
Items from kits will not be acceptable. If you are interested you may get
a copy of the guidelines from the Janice Mason Art Museum or please contact Don
Geisler at 270-522-8509, Curran Copeland at 270-522- 8509, or Martha Davis at
270-522-9056. Items to be shown must be brought to the Museum no later
than May 20.
The formal opening event for the Trigg County Folk Art and Craft exhibit
will be on Saturday, June 1st from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend the reception to meet the crafters.
The Museum is currently offering classes in stain glass, pottery, and water
color. Contact the Museum at 270-522-9056 if you are interested in enrolling in a class, pre-registration is required. Partial funding has
been provided by the Kentucky Arts Council a state agency in Education, Arts, and Humanities Cabinet with support from the National Endowment for
the Arts. The Janice Mason Art Museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Monday through Saturday, 1:00 to 4:00 on Sunday, and closed Wednesday.
