Janice Mason Art Museum Plans Spring Classes
Cadiz—Exciting plans are underway for the spring
classes at the Janice Mason Art Museum.
Beginning Stained Glass- Begins Monday, March 29 at
5:30-7:30- $125.00 non-museum members/$100.00 members - six weekly sessions. Fee
includes tools which will become the property of the participants. Students will
complete a stained glass project. Stained glass may be purchased from the
museum. Instructor: Vicki Karrigan. Limit 8.
Pottery Exploration- The beginning date is Monday
March 29 at 5:30-7:30-$65 non-member/ $55 members. Class meets on Monday and
Tuesday evenings for three weeks. Prerequisite prior pottery class. Features
use of the pottery wheel and some hand techniques. New types of clay and glazes
will be featured that are different than those utilized in the first pottery
classes. All supplies are furnished. All items that will be made and fired
must be done in class. Teacher: Mitchell Bryant retired art instructor and
artist. Limit 8.
Beginning Drawing- The beginning date is Tuesday,
March 30 at 4:00-6:00 and the fee is $60 nonmembers/$50 members and will consist
of six weekly sessions. This class uses techniques of Drawing on the Right
Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards whose text will be furnished. Students
will need to bring a drawing pad (no newsprint please) and no. 2 lead pencils.
Instructor: Paula Lisowsky. Limit 12.
Beginning Digital Photography- These classes begin
Thursday, April 1. Participants may select a day class at1:00-2:30 or a
separate night class at 7:00-8:30. There are four weekly sessions and the fee
is $40 non-members/ $35 members. Participants must bring a digital camera to
class and have it available for taking pictures outside of class. Instructor:
Clarence Thomas, who has been a professional photographer and started taking
pictures at the age of seven. The museum is delighted to offer this class for
the first time. Limit 10.
Basket Making Workshop- Sunday afternoon, March 28,
at 1:00 to 4:00. Fee $20 and all supplies are furnished. This workshop will be
making a melon or egg basket. Teacher: Paula Lisowsky. Limit 10.

Mason Art Museum at 522-9056 at least one week prior to the class beginning
date. Fees should be paid prior to the first class. Partial funding has been
provided by the Kentucky Arts Council, a state agency in the Commerce Cabinet,
with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
