New Spring Classes at the Janice Mason Art
Museum
Beginning stained glass classes have long
been a favorite of many of our students. Vicki Karrigan will teach a beginning
stained glass class starting on Thursday, March 17 at 5:30-8:00 at the Janice
Mason Art Museum. There will be a total of seven sessions on successive
Thursday evenings. All supplies and materials will be furnished except the
glass for each participant's project. The fee for members is $100/
non-members $125.
Peggy
Kemp is offering a different type of painting workshop for experienced
painters. The workshop will have six sessions and will be from 10 to 12 and
after lunch from 12:30 to 2:30 on successive Thursdays. The workshop sessions
will begin April 7 and last through May 12. Participants are to bring their
own paints, brushes, and all materials as well as sack
lunches. Participants may use the type of paint they choose. Instruction will
be more informal and personalized than in a regular classroom. Nature is to be
the backdrop of these sessions and will take place at different outdoor
locations in our area, except in the event of rain. The cost of the workshop
is $65 for museum members and $70 for non-members for approximately 24 hours
of workshop time.
Prior
registration is required and may be completed by contacting the Museum at
522-9056 during the week from 10-4 or by e-mail at
jmam@bellsouth.net. Classes will also be listed on the museum website at
www.jmam.org.
