FRANKFORT, Ky. - Arts leaders from across the
Commonwealth came to Frankfort on February 8 to celebrate Arts Day
and meet with their legislators. During this time, Senator Kenneth
Winters presented a check to Paula Lisowsky, Administrator, Vicki
Karrigan, Board President and Paul Fourshee, Board Secretary of the
Janice Mason Art Museum for their FY2006 General Operating Support
Grant. Janice Mason Art Museum was awarded $2,279.00 by the
Kentucky Arts Council, a state agency in the Commerce Cabinet.
"Janice Mason Art Museum is a great asset to our
community and to Kentucky," said Representative Henley, who
represents the Janice Mason Art Museum in the Kentucky House of
Representatives.
General Operating Support grants provide operational
funding assistance on a competitive basis to arts and cultural
organizations and community arts programs to ensure that year-round
participation in the arts is available to people across Kentucky.
