Janice Mason Art Museum Features New Exhibit
Cadiz, KY—The Janice Mason Art
Museum’s newest exhibit, “This—That—and More, New Works by William Ferrar
Renzulli” opens June 18.
For the past
twenty years, Renzulli has successfully woven art and medicine into the fabric
of his life. Upon completion of his medical training, he established an
internal medicine practice, but his life-long interest in art matured into a
call that could not be ignored. Although he continues to practice medicine full
time in Paducah, his artistic avocation is a major component of his life.
Renzulli's paintings have been exhibited in numerous solo and juried shows in
galleries in the Mid-Atlantic States, and his limited edition prints are
distributed nation wide. He has been commissioned to create both commemorative
prints and original work for a number of institutions, schools and businesses.
His earlier works are exclusively watercolors, but in recent years he has been
exploring new media. Utilizing liquid clay, pigments, pastels, and fabric,
Renzulli creates the "clay monoprint". He also has a growing body of work using
the shadow box format, which incorporates found objects with his artwork to
explore the relationships between shapes, color, and light in both
representational and non-representational pieces. This show presents a mixture
of exciting new art techniques with the more traditional watercolors and
pastels.
The works of William
Renzulli will be displayed through July 18. An opening reception will be held on
June 19 at 6:30. The Janice Mason Art Museum is located at 71 Main Street in
Cadiz. Museum hours are 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday – Saturday and 1:00 PM – 4:00
PM on Sundays. More information is available at
www.jmam.org or by calling the Museum at 270 522-9056. Partial funding has
been provided by the Kentucky Arts Council, an agency in the Commerce Cabinet
with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
