JMAM PLANS WINTER
CLASSES
The Janice Mason Art Museum
has a whole slate of new winter classes planned. There is no better way to beat
the winter blahs than enrolling in an exciting, fun- filled art class.
Mitchell Bryant, retired art
teacher and artist, will teach stenciling. Stenciling is the technique
of designing, cutting, and applying an image to a surface. The class will be
offered at the Janice Mason Art Museum on six consecutive Tuesday mornings from
10:00 to 12:00, beginning on Tuesday, January 27. Fee for the class is $50 for
museum members and $60 for non- members. All supplies will be furnished.
Mr. Bryant will offer a
pottery class in the spring if there is adequate demand. Please contact the
museum if you are interested.
Peggy Kemp, retired art
teacher and artist, will teach acrylic painting (done by the oil painting
technique). This class will be offered on six consecutive Tuesday afternoons
from 1:00 to 3:00, beginning Tuesday, January 27 at the museum. The fee for the
class is $50 for museum members and $60 for non-members. Some of the materials
will be furnished. Call the museum to get details and a list of needed
supplies.
There has been a great
demand for a follow-up class for students who have attended our first
stained-glass workshops. Vicki Karrigan will present a follow-up
stained-glass class which will consist of supervised studio time. Students
will need their own tools and may bring their glass or purchase it from the
museum. The class will run for six consecutive Monday evenings from 5:30 to
7:30 beginning on January 26. Some supplies will be furnished. The fee for the
class is $50 for museum members and $60 for non-members.
Mrs. Karrigan will offer the beginning stained-glass class on Monday evenings from 5:30-7:30 for six
consecutive Mondays beginning March 22. Fee is $125 and cost of glass for
project. Participants will make a project of their choosing.
Joyce Bolz, a new member of
our community, who has years of experience teaching in various community
centers, will offer a class entitled “Drawing with Feeling” at the
museum. This class will be conducted six consecutive Thursday afternoons from
1:00 to 3:00 beginning Thursday January 29.Cost for the class is $50 for museum
members and $60 for non-members. All materials will be furnished. Class fee is
$50 for museum members and $60 for non-members.
In order to register for
any of these classes, please call the Janice Mason Art Museum at 522-9056 from
10 to 4 P.M any week day. To enroll register in advance and pay the fees before
the class begins. Classes fill quickly so please call early.
