Cadiz, KY-The Janice Mason Art Museum will
once again bring the Kentucky
Watercolor Society's traveling component of their prestigious annual
juried
show to Cadiz. "Aqueous USA 2005 Travel Show" opens March 7 for two weeks
only, ending on March 19.
Aqueous USA 2005 National Exhibition, held at the Actors Theatre of
Louisville was the 28th annual show with artists from 32 states nationwide
competing. Juror Gerald Brommer selected the 70 pieces making up the
show.
Twenty pieces from the Louisville exhibition were then selected to travel.
The JMAM is the fifth of twelve venues around the region.
"This is one of our oldest recurring exhibits," stated Museum
Administrator Paula Lisowsky. "It's also a favorite of many of our local
patrons. With the formation of the Watercolor Artists Guild of Lyon and
Trigg Counties based right in Cadiz, appreciation for watermedia seems to
be
growing."
Museum hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, and 1:00 PM-4:00
PM
on Sundays. More information is available by calling the Museum at (270)
522-9056 or visiting the website at www.jmam.org.
The Janice Mason Art Museum is a membership-funded, 501(c)(3) non-profit
community arts center formed in 1998 to bring the arts to the people of
Cadiz, Trigg County and the surrounding area. The Kentucky Arts Council,
a
state agency in the Commerce Cabinet, provides operational support funding
for the Janice Mason Art Museum with state tax dollars and federal funding
from the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great
nation
deserves great art.
