How much time should I plan for a visit?
Most visitors spend an average of a half an hour.  Some exhibits are larger and require more time and some exhibits demand that you spend a few minutes studying the work to take it all in.

Is this a good place to bring my children?
We always encourage children to visit.  As a matter of fact we make a concentrated effort to bring every Trigg County Elementary student into the museum at least once a year.  We find that many return to bring their parents and friends.  We also offer many classes for children of all ages.

Is the museum handicapped accessible?
We are presently raising funds to make the museum 100% accessible but at this time only the gallery is accessible .  If you would like assistance you may contact the office and someone will meet you curbside for additional assistance.

Can the museum be rented for special events?
The museum is available on a limited basis for special events and receptions. Attendance size and the current exhibit are issues that may effect our ability to provide space.  Call Martha Davis at 270-522-9056 for information.

May I take pictures?
No.  Artist's work should not be copied also the light from the flash is damaging to the art.

How do I include the museum in my estate plans?
JMAM is a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization. We depend on the good will of caring citizens for our existence and growth.  The museum welcomes and appreciates your estate planning contributions.  Click here for more information.

Is parking an issue? Buses, RVs & Vans?
There are extra long parking spaces street side in front of the museum that will accommodate busses and large vehicles.  If other space is needed you may use the church's big parking lot across the street.

Do you do appraisals?
No, JMAM does not  appraise items or collections. You may contact the American Society of Appraisers at 1-800-272-8258, or http://www.appraisers.org/.

How can I get my art exhibited at JMAM?
Anyone may submit requests to the Presenting and Scheduling committee which makes decisions regarding exhibits.  Click here for more information or contact Paula Lisowsky for submission information.

How can I become involved?
Your support is always valued and appreciated. In addition to becoming a member you may volunteer your time and services.  The museum has over 60 volunteers that provide services from being a docent to gardening to teaching.  give us a call or visit and we will have a job for you.
