Dining with the Dearly Departed
Each fall Southern Kentucky Independent Theatre (SKIT) produces "Dining with the Dearly Departed," a unique theatre experience in which costumed actors depict some of the most interesting characters in Trigg County history.
This year's event will be held Friday, September 20th, and Saturday, September 21st, at 6pm at RB Farms on the Old Hopkinsville Road. SKIT researched and will depict the entire history of the farm, presenting an impressive tale that directly ties Trigg County to the founding fathers. Actors will present the stories of each owner of the farm, beginning with the Shawnee Indians, then later Edmund Bacon, who was actually Thomas Jefferson's overseer for many years before coming to Trigg County, and on up through to the present day. There are tales of love, suicide, and bankruptcy; tales of grandeur and great sadness.
In order to accommodate as many fans as possible, this year's event will be held on RB farms under a large tent. No walking will be required. There will be a buffet country meal catered by Genesis Express.
