New
Winter Classes at Janice Mason Art Museum

shake off the drudgery of the long winter evenings! There are exciting new
classes for students and adults at the Janice Mason Art Museum beginning as
soon as January 11 and extending through April. New for this semester are
the classes for school age youth as well as a tole painting class. Naturally
there are many of the regular favorites being offered again. All classes are
taught in the basement of the museum. There are some scholarships available
through the generosity of the local Rotary Club for youth and senior adults,
who demonstrate a need.
Youth Classes
Tuesday
Art Club, kindergarten-2nd grade. Jan. 11- Feb.15, six sessions,
Tues. 3:30-4:30.
Purely for fun,
this class is all about creating! A variety of materials will be used. $30
fee includes all materials. Instructor: Paula Lisowsky
Beginning
Realistic Drawing for Students Grades 3-5. Feb. 22-April 5 (No class
3/29), six sessions, Tuesdays 3:30-4:30. Beginning study of realistic
drawing, developing personal style. $30, includes all materials.

Beginning
Realistic Drawing for High School Students. March 14-April 25 (no
class 3/28), Mondays 3:30-5:00. Beginning study of realistic drawing
developing personal style. $40, includes all materials. Instructor- Paula
Lisowsky.
Adult and
Teen Classes (16+)
Stained
Glass Class. Jan. 17- March 7 (no class 2/14). Mondays 5:30-8:00.
Fee $100 members/ $125 for non-members. All supplies furnished except stained
glass for project. Instructor- Vickie Karrigan.
Drawing
Exploration. Feb. 3- March 10, Thursdays 4:30-6:30. Workshop for
non-beginners to help loosen and further develop personal drawing style. $60
members/ $65 non-members, includes all materials. Instructor- Paula Lisowsky.
Tole/Decorative
Painting. Feb. 22- March 29, Tuesdays 6:30-8:30. All materials
furnished. Details and fee information later. Instructor-Ron Frankhouser.
Beginning
Pottery Class. March 7- April 11, Mondays 6:00- 8:00. Learn
different techniques for making pottery. All materials furnished, fee $65
members/$70 non-members. Instructor- Mitchell Bryant.
Possibly
Art History and Appreciation. Contingent on
enrollment and other factors. If interested contact the Museum. Instructors
Peggy Kemp and Kathy Harper.

net. Classes will also be listed on the museum website at www. jmam.org.
Partial funding is provided by the Kentucky Arts Council, a state agency in
the Commerce Cabinet, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts,
and the USDA Forest Service.
