Art Guild Forms

For those who might have an interest in forming a loose knit group of kindred spirits we have started an artists guild.  This guild will function as an arm of the Janice Mason Art Museum much the same way the classes do.

Many of the students of JMAM have indicated their interest in some time to work in the studio or work with others.  This DOES NOT mean that you must have taken a class at the Museum but you must be a Museum member.  Any artist regardless of your perceived abilities is welcome.  This group will develop into a structure that best suits those who sign up.

The objective of the group is to meet regularly at the Museum to paint, sculpt, draw or work on your current project.  It is an opportunity to discuss our work with other artists and develop friendships within the membership.

Some of the options are: groups working on painting or drawing the same subject; arranging a field trip to photograph, sketch or paint; time together to critic our art or visit other guilds.  The opportunities are endless and we would love to hear your suggestions.

There may be a time that the group would want to mount an exhibit but the function of the group would not be producing art to market.  The group does not hold business meetings but simply meets on agreed days to create and discuss art.  If this sounds interesting to you please contact Martha Davis at the Museum office for the time and place of the next meeting.  Martha Davis 522-9056.
