GREAT NEW FLOWER BEDS AT MUSEUM

Friends of the Janice Mason Art Museum have struck again!  Several people responded to the call for the donation of perennials for the beds in front of the museum.  On Tuesday the Museum received over 125 plants and volunteers under the guidance of Becky Oliver planted them.

Vicki Karrigan remarked, “For the Museum to purchase that many plants the cost would certainly have been over a thousand dollars.”  President Karen Clement, in her usual excitement exclaimed, “We are just so thankful for the generosity of all these people who gave plants and the time to set them out.  The Museum is blessed with so many friends and we are very grateful.  That is exactly what leads to the success we have enjoyed.”

This will certainly be a garden for the community and by the community.  “It may take a couple of years to mature, but it is going to be a fine flower garden,” states Becky Oliver.  It will be fun to watch the garden grow and being right on Main Street, everyone will be able to enjoy it.

The Janice Mason Art Museum is located at 71 Main Street, downtown Cadiz.  Visit the Japanese Kimono Exhibit until May 15, 2002.  The Museum is open 10 AM to 4 PM Monday through Saturday, closed Wednesday and open 1 PM to 4 PM Sundays.  Call 522-9056 or check the web site www.jmam.org for the schedule of exhibits and classes.  If you would like to volunteer to work with any aspect of the Museum contact Martha Davis at the Museum office.
