Trigg County Elementary PTA Exhibit - January 10, 2003 -  January 29, 2003.  The annual PTA Elementary art exhibit has become a favorite and much expected exhibit in the community.  Art by K - 4th grade is displayed with a big opening night reception to meet the artists.  Not to be missed.

Ken Roberts - February 3, 2003 - March 2, 2003.  An excellent example of the talented artists living in our community.  Collage quilt blocks, oil painting, syndicated cartoonist, 

Aqueous USA 2002  - March 7, 2003 - March 19, 2003. This exhibit is approximately 40 winners of the Kentucky Watercolor Society national contest.  This is a wonderful opportunity to see some of the best watercolor artists in the United States.

"Swing City" Big Band Dinner / Dance - March 22, 2003 - Music by "The Temple Airs" an exciting 19 member swing band from Evansville, IN.  This dinner / dance is an important fundraiser for the museum and will be held at Barkley Lodge Convention Center.  Click here for tickets and additional information.

Trigg County Quilters Guild - March 28, 2003 - May 11, 2003.  The best of the best in the ancient quilters art.  Trigg County shows off a gold mine of talent from traditional to new age quilting.  This is the first fiber exhibit by the Janice Mason Art Museum.

Visions 2002 and Girls' Eye View - May 16, 2003 to June 15, 2003.  A fascinating exhibit sponsored by the Trigg County Girl Scouts.  A traveling exhibit originating from the Kentucky Governor's mansion.  A rare opportunity to see the premier up and coming artists in Kentucky.

Annual Membership Meeting - June 5, 6:30.  All members are invited to the annual meeting. Officers will be elected.  Meet the board and class instructors. 

Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon - June 8, 1:30 - 3:30 at Paul Fourshee's house, 159 Main Street.  All volunteers are invited.  Please contact Martha Davis at the office to RSVP.

Thread Art by Jeanie - June 20, 2003 - August 3, 2003.  An impressive collection of "painting by thread."  Jeanie Sexton of Lyon County, Kentucky has developed a delightful talent using thread to render hand made articles of clothing into works of art.

Senior Presentation of Local Artist Margaret Harper & Oil Portraits by Karen Mize Harper - August 24 - September 28.  Fresh, new, original photography and oil portraits. These two Trigg County natives are actually aunt and niece.  Their artistic abilities are vast.  Both are masters of their medium.

Annual "Really Big" Golf Tournament - October 4.  This is the third year for this popular fund raiser.  A shotgun start at 9 AM, breakfast included starts at 8 AM with registration.  This tournament is held at Arrowhead Golf Club on Highway 68 Bypass.  Lots of great prizes including $10,000 hole in one.  Call Arrowhead for details, 270-522-1999.

Wier Collection - October 4 - November 28.  A privately owned exhibit from the collection of Dick & Pat Wier of Chicago features the work of significant contemporary artists including Frank Stella, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, and Chuck Close.  The exhibit marks the first time this substantial private collection has been made available for public viewing.
        This is a rare, one time only opportunity to view these works by major contemporary artists.  This is not a traveling exhibit and when this exhibit is closed the collection will return to its private owners.  The exhibit is made possible by the generosity of the Wier family, support of the Kentucky Arts Council and is underwritten by the Cadiz - Trigg County Tourist Commission and the U.S. Forestry Service - LBL.

Nancy Perkins Writers Workshop - October 11, 2003, 10 AM.  Book signing, 11 AM.  This is Saturday of the Trigg County Ham Festival.  What a great opportunity to mingle with friends and learn a few pointers about putting your thoughts on paper.

Arts Night at the Wier Show - October 23, 2003.  6:30 - 8:30 PM.  All artists are invited to attend a special showing of the Wier collection.  It's a good opportunity to discuss the work with other artists and to network.

Decorated Pumpkin Contest - October 31, 2003.  10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Children between the ages of 2 and 12 are invited to decorate a pumpkin to enter in the contest concluding at 5 PM during "Safe Night".  Carving can be assisted by a grownup but all other decorating must be done by the youngster.  There are several age categories.
      Safe Night is a Halloween event sponsored by Cadiz Renaissance on Main.  Main Street will be closed and all children are encouraged to dress in costume and trick-or-treat from business to business between 4 and 6 PM.  See fire trucks, police cars and ambulances up close.  Enter the costume contest or bob for apples.  A good time is guaranteed.

Christmas Art Bazaar - November 29, 2003. A number of juried artists present their work in the gallery for sale benefiting the museum.  Great art at a good price, plus you are supporting the museum.  This is the same day as the "Cadiz East to West" shopping promotion.  Take advantage of the many shopping opportunities in Cadiz.

Festival of Trees - December 6, 2003 - December 31, 2003.  This event grows every year and each year the Christmas trees are more unique.  The popularity of this event has caused the Museum to limit the number of trees to 30.  These Christmas trees are projects of civic organizations and businesses in the area.  The opening night is always the night of the Cadiz candle light Christmas parade and plenty of Main Street and  Museum volunteers will be in Dickens' costume.  Join us in celebration of the season.
